Rug 5303
Burntwater Ye'i Rug in a Rug by Emily Malone
This stunning Yei design within a double diamond
Burntwater pattern is a first for master weaver Emily Malone.
Emily regularly weaves exquisite Burntwater pieces, but the
inclusion of the Ye'i figures is something new for her. The Ye''i
figures in the center are depictions of the Diyin Diné'é
(Holy People) who placed everything necessary for the well being of the
Navajo people within the lands bounded by the four sacred mountains.
There are many taboos around weaving the holy people and weavers
often consult a medicine man to obtain the appropriate blessings and
prayers before starting a weaving incorporating them. Emily has used
vegetally dyed yarns in this rug.
Bah lives in the Querino Canyon area.
Length: 24"
Width:49"
Yarn: Burnham's #1
Dyes: Vegetal
Price $2295.00
